The World Congress and Annual Meeting program will provide valuable information and insights for today’s international and domestic leaders in all aspects of the transport industries. Transport experts will speak on ITS issues and solutions in Plenary, Executive, Special, Technical, Scientific, Educational, and Interactive Sessions. The sessions are structured to encourage audience interaction with panelists and presenters to advance the exchange of knowledge and viewpoints.
A technical program consisting of more than 300 sessions will be offered, providing delegates with up to 25 wide-ranging sessions to choose from in each time slot. This is in addition to all of the activities in the exhibit hall, VII demonstrations, technical tours, workshops, training courses, and special events. The 15th World Congress on ITS and ITS America Annual Meeting offers a rich, innovative, and varied experience for everyone.

Executive Sessions
Executive Sesions are high-level international panel sessions on policy and vision conducted by senior-level executives from the public and private sectors providing an overall picture of their nations’ industries and their ITS initiatives, and solutions to address today’s transport challenges. More than 20 topics critical to the advancement of ITS will be addressed in the Executive Sessions. These sessions will address such critical ITS topics as e-Safety, system management, communication policies, and cooperative systems. There will also be sessions on broader topical issues such as the role of ITS in sustainable mobility, climate change, and transportation finance. Here is an opportunity to better understand the policy challenges and opportunities related to ITS development and deployment.
Special Sessions
Special Sesions speak directly to operational managers and decision makers from around the world, addressing the application of technology, integration of systems and networks, the progress and results of key programs, benefits of ITS services and systems, research and development, training needs, etc. ITS America, ERTICO , and ITS Japan are working together to develop more than 60 compelling sessions of immediate interest to the transport community in such areas as cooperative systems, regional ITS strategic planning, enabling mobility, active safety systems, supply chain logistics, carbon footprinting, and benchmarking urban transport performance.
Plenary Sessions
Plenary Sesions bring together the world’s leaders in transport to offer their perspectives on ITS policies, initiatives, and trends. The Ministerial Plenary will feature Transport Ministers from around the globe exploring transport policies aimed at broadening mobility choices, enhancing safety, mitigating congestion, sustaining the environment, and promoting economic growth. The Second Plenary Session titled Breaking the Mold: New Paradigms for Transport Safety? brings together leaders from government and industry to examine what really needs to be done to meaningfully reduce transport-related fatalities.
Technical and Scientific Sessions
Technical and Scientific Sesions are paper sessions targeted at the ITS professionals and scholars to learn more from the authors about the technical details of the latest transportation technologies, as well as progress and results of various research programs, field tests, and other initiatives worldwide. Nearly 150 technical and scientific sessions will be offered addressing an extensive portfolio of ITS related topics.
Interactive Sessions
Interactive Sesions offer delegates an opportunity to directly speak one-on-one with presenters to explore in depth their latest achievements in technology research, program development, and program assessment.
Annual Meeting Sessions
Annual Meeting Educational Sesions.The ITS America Annual Meeting will offer more than 45 educational sessions focused on the public and private sector efforts in the U.S. ITS America’s Forum leaders and staff are constructing sessions that will host specially invited professionals in ITS from both public and private sectors, from the U.S. and abroad, to highlight partnerships, technologies, initiatives, and policies.
